Its interesting she is using controversy this far into her career.
A few years she swore that she would remain classy which meant keeping her clothes and being less sexual if you will(unlike Britney, madonna, christina)
However King B must have had a change of hearts. WHy?
Ummm...she never said that. This is more of a return to her DC and Dangerously in Love days. She been wearing little clothes. Sports Illustrated anyone? You TRIED it.
A shame nobody gives a **** when she tries to be controversial.
Because she's been a bad bitch from the start, now everything she does is tamer because of how she's shaped the industry. Rihanna has opened the door for Beyonce to be a "bad bitch" without half the backlash Rihanna received when she did it years ago.
Beyonce is definitely the most controversial artist of 2013. I don't think she planned it ( like the Inauguration and SB light going out she couldn't plan) but I DO think she's not doing anything to stop it and letting the controversy work for her. She just doesn't care about pleasing other people anymore. I really expect her to end up being #1 on Forbes after this year.
But is she doing it on purpose in order to sell records?
Other artist of her generation didn't have to try hard in order to gain buzz.
No shade but it seems like Beyonce is resorting that the very ideas she criticized years ago.

Without Rihanna, Beyonce would still be clinging to her good girl, wholesome image - or hiding behind Sasha Fierce. Rihanna is opening doors here.

Did you even read the rest of my post? Cuz I answered your question. No. I don't think she's doing it on purpose, but she's just not doing anything to stop it, which is typical of Beyonce. She never addresses rumors. She's just so big of star now that controversy comes to her. People care so much about everything she does and she is analyzed by people from all different realms. She's simply the biggest popstar of our generation. A legend.
I agree on that. I actually prefer Beyonce as her manager because is she taking a lot more risks it seems. I'm excited to see what else she has up her to sleeve to get us talking.
I applaud her for taking control of her brand and image but it is hard to self-manage. It is difficult to be both artist and manager. Based on the last era and the wasted promo run early this year, I don't think that managing is one of her talents. The fact that the label wanted End of Time as the 1st single and she insisted on Run the World
Alot of pop artists uses controversy to gain publicity thought I shall not name them >_>
But some don't have to try hard to get it, they just do what they do.
No shade but Beyonce on the other hard seems to be trying a little to hard ever since 4 underperformed. Like I said, she swore never to resort to controversy in order to sell records.

Sisterling.
And tell that to Madonna who was making international headlines two decades in to her career when she was THAT BITCH from the start.
Nothing about Beyoncé is even slightly controversial. That's the problem.
Pregnancy: Was she or wasn't she...lipsynching at the inauguration...Illuminati worship...now this random display of x-rated material.....Beyonce has been more controversial now than ever (which isn't saying much to begin with)...but nonetheless, it's still turning people off.
Controversy or not, it's been working. The Navy has been pressed so hard with the song, it's amazing. Keep making threads about her, you're doing exactly what she wants you to.
And smh at Rihanna opening doors for Beyonce. Ya'll take your delusion too far sometimes

True but Rihanna is a black artist -- black artists typically had to walk a fine line because strong independent sexually-aggressive black women isn't something that was totally accepted by the mainstream -- until Queen Fenty came along and showed Beyonce that, it's okay - you can cuss, and be sexually explicit as a BLACK WOMAN and still maintain your career and mainstream appeal.
When Beyonce does something it will ALWAYS be a bigger or blown out of proportion story than the others, why... because she held to a higher STANDARD. The GP don't hold the others girls to that lvl.
