I think the only ones that could bring in idol-level viewers for this show would be Adele, Gaga, Katy, Rihanna, and Bieber. Anyone else would've suffered the fate Britney did. She's just not that relevant to the GP... at least not to the extent that they'd tune in every week to see her.

And it's not just X factor. Reality TV talent shows are falling because they haven't found a CONSISTENT selling pop star in years. You watch your favorite contestant for a season, then they just disappear like it didn't matter

Now the shows are trying to make up for it by putting the spotlight on the judges 24/7

Edit: and even with the judges, the dynamics of the judges on X factor is extremely awkward. Has Britney directly ever looked at LA Reid? Could Simon and Demi's cat fights be any more staged?

The show was geared toward a much younger audience and they just don't watch tv as much. But it's clear that the contestants will do well after the show.

The Voice and AI are doing alright though. I think the problem with X Factor is that it doesn't stand out enough. The Voice has the spinning chair thing and the chemistry of the cast.

X-Factor is basically American Idol. The Mentor thing isn't different enough to make it stand out

The show did great!!! Not with the same rating but it did good!!
The voice take a lot of attention!

However just wait until some of the top 3 finalist becomes huge!! or even Emblem 3
It would not be like 1rst season where eveyone flop hard!!

A. Helped How I Met Your Mother's ratings

B. VMA 2008's ratings

C. Glee Ratings in late 2020

D. Helped will.i.am score a huge smash

E. Helped Rihanna push her song to #1 in mid-2011


Clearly the star power is there, however, X-Factor needs to more real-ness to it and not talk 15 million years for one performance. Also, it's really not that different from other talent shows. It needs a new unique feature to make the show more interesting. People aren't going to rush to another show that they've been getting with American Idol and The Voice.

My 11 year old cousin is all "ew, I don't listen to old people" when I mention Britney. It's ashame because she grew up with stars like Demi, Selena, Justin, Miley, One Direction and not us like Britney, Christina, etc.

Lets face it , bigger stars right now like "Justin Bieber", "One direction", and "Taylor Swift" , were invited this season and all of them appeared on X-factor episodes.

Well Just like Britney They did absolutely nothing for the ratings on the episodes they appeared , actually the episde where "Taylor Swift" the biggest star of america appeared decreased in ratings compared to the previous episode.

However all these artists debuted at #1 on Billboard 200 , and Britney's last single is slaying the charts WW.


it wasn't Britney's fault really .... NO ONE could save that show.

American Idol has established it's credibility long ago. And that show is falling now. Maybe not as hard, but it is.

The Voice..I don't watch it because the talent is abysmal but the judges' dynamics on that show is flawless..which is why I think it's gaining speed
