Newsflash, but the Grammys aren't all about who sells the most. (If you want that, go with the Billboard Awards. ) They're also about (on occasion) quality. I'd like you to find me ONE reviewer who thought that Breakaway was in ANY WAY a better album than Extraordinary Machine. I'll be waiting on that one.
(And I don't mean some crappy review from Amazon, a REPUTABLE source please.)

The nominees this year make it look more and more like they are leaning towards popularity, though. It's sad but just look at the nominees for Best New Artist: Ciara, Sugarland, Fall Out Boy, Keane and John Legend. Out of those, Ciara has had a few HUGE singles, Sugarland has been big on Country radio, Fall Out Boy has been big on both rock and pop radio, John Legend is big on Urban radio. Keane is the only one who hasn't had a big, major hit but they did have "Somewhere Only We Know" too.

I figured Bloc Party would at least get something, maybe a nod in the wretched BNA category, but I guess you have to be popular to get a Grammy nod nowadays.

None of you will care but Miranda Lambert and Gary Allan were robbed in the country categories. Both released excellent albums that smack the everlivinghell out of the same dull ass tripe Faith releases as well as the B-Sides collection Gretchen put out. Plus, "Me And Charlie Talkin" is by far the best country song of the year (no, not "****ree" crap like Bless The Broken Road, it's legit country). Hell, they gave Lee Ann Womak two nods but screwed her over for a well-deserved country album and Record of the Year nod? Grrr.

I'm surprised Kelly Clarkson wasn't nominated for, 'Behind These Hazel Eyes,' in the Best Rock Female catagory. Both Pink & Avril were nominated once so I figured she could get one.

I'm also surprised, 'Cool,' wasn't nominated for Best Female Pop only because, 'Hollaback Girl,' isn't really a great vocal song, it's more of a chant.

I thought Britney Spears could get another Best Dance Song nomination for, 'Do Somethin',' but I guess it just didn't make the cut.

Obviously Kelly Clarkson, because the top 2 albums this year, according to stats, has got to be from Mariah Carey and Kelly herself. 5 nods would have been more justifed, as John Legend and the likes of Norah Jones are just not that great. Alicia Keys wasn't completely justfied this year, as she always more credit than she really deserves.

I think that Kelly deserved to get more nominations, I was expecting a nomination in Album of the Year or Song of the Year. I guess that I can just hope that she wins one that she is nominated for or that she gets to perform.

Why da hell is Omarion nominated...he sucks. Faith Evans is the only one that I believe was truly snubbed...her album is incredible and is easy the best album of the year.
