I love them!! They are everyone's guilty pleasure. I agree that I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do wasn't their best, and I am appalled that Mama Mia only reach #32 in the US, but I overall I think they achieved a lot in the US (especially since their music was not geared towards the US market at all). And of course they were huge WW. In total they have sold 260 million records WW, that is more than Mariah Carey and Pink Floyd.
You're right. I think most people would recognize those songs over a Beatles or Rolling Stone song.

Unlike any other group? The Beatles have plenty of instantly recognizable songs. I Want to Hold Your Hand? A Hard Day's Night? She Loves You? Yesterday? Hey Jude? Let It Be? Come Together? All You Need Is Love?
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Queen, but they're hardly the only band to have more than one or two iconic songs.
