Yes - it would have smashed if they released it in October (around Halloween, after Alejandro). Then DITD should have been released in Dec to close the era.
I was disappointed that she didn't release Monster and Dance In The Dark. I didn't like Telephone and actually wished she saved it for her Andy Warhol ARTPOP album with the consumerism.
I think so, even more than DITD. Monster was dark enough to be a gem on TFM but still dance/pop enough in its lyrics and production to hold safe mainstream appeal. Even my best friend who generally doesn't care for modern pop has Monster on her iPod.
Everybody was begging for Alejandro to be released at the time. But it could've been released after that. I think it was sent to radio in New Zealand or Australia wasn't it? And it went top 40.
