Give me a break. No one outside stan bases cared about the comparison. The era was a success, and anyone who says otherwise is delusional. It just didn't smash as hard as people thought it would, because the music wasn't as radio friendly or commercial. She made the album for her fans.

I don't think the Express Yourself comparisons hurt her, because 99% of the general public are not aware of any of this happening.

We live in this world of ATRL, Twitter, etc. where it seems like a big deal, but honestly, hardly anybody in the real world actually knows any comparison controversy happened.
