I mean people who support him probably will do something if he doesn't win.

Have any of them expressed their intentions of engaging on a civil war if Chavez doesn't win? I seriously haven't heard any of his supporters say that In the scenario of Chavez losing he will surely seethe like he did in 2007 when he lost that election to reform the constitution but I don't see him wanting to take over right away (although he already led a coup d'etat 20 years ago) so I doubt those imaginary armed conflicts would come about at least in the next few years.
I honestly don't think anything significant will happen either if he wins again in terms of civil disobedience. Sure the opposition will be really mad and try to protest all they want but in the end people can't really take down a government that has complete control of the army. They've been trying it for 14 years and only succeeded for like 3 days, 10 years ago.

One of the reasons yes, but not the only reason. Venezuela has always been exploited/neglected and the majority of the country has been in notably poor living conditions ever since the 70s. Although Capriles' political party is relatively new he is also supported by the parties that ruled pre-Chavez (basically anyone that's not pro-Chavez is backing up Capriles). That's another aspect that could subtract some votes for Capriles, especially in the slums where people are still reluctant because they've felt betrayed so many times. Even when the number of poor people turning against Chavez grows bigger everyday there's still a big portion of them that feel that Chavez is the only one that has partly cared about them in a long time.

It's weird because I know Venezuela sells a lot of oil to foreign countries and that alone should be bringing in massive profits so obviously there's something sketchy going on. I feel like there's no reason why a beautiful country like Venezuela should be struggling as much so it's only natural that I pin the blame on the president. I do hope things work out in the end though.
Is there a chance Capriles could win though or is everyone pretty much prepared for Chavez to win?

Everyone in Venezuela constantly wonders about this We've noticed sis. Where is a big part of those annual $124 billion or so going? We're not the biggest producers of oil but we have the biggest oil reserves in the world That should count for something and we're also the US's 4th biggest supplier of oil.

That's not how I perceive it at all. A lot of people around me think Chavez will LOSE, but of course we will only know for sure in 46 days

I prefer Chavez gets re-elected. Capriles is a risk and I don't think he's ready. Venezuela is way better country than it was before 1999. At least there is less poverty but corruption, gangs and other **** are still going on.
By the way the United Nations released an interesting report: http://www.aporrea.org/actualidad/n212549.html
Capriles is cute. but I would have liked another candidate from the MUD like Maria Corina Machado or Diego Arria.

I don't care if they start a civil war, and it seems like it.. But gosh, this man (CHAVEZ) he had done too many bad things to my country, it's horrible how Venezuela has got worse, it's horrible
Many companies are waiting for the Election, if Chavez wins then, they will go out Venezuela.. They are tired of Chavez, he is totally one of the most evil persons I've ever seen

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO You have no idea what you're talking I mean, CHAVEZ? The worst! I mean, he has made too much damage to the country..
Education is way worse than it was years before.. maybe there "MORE SCHOOLS" and everything BUT.. THE QUALITY IS HORRIBLE
The Cuban Invasion that Venezuela had right is impressive

The election for sure is gonna one of the most important things in my Country's history
And nothing is sure now, I mean, is neck-on-neck.. And you can ask people or politics and they will say you the same thing. The thing is not easy, what matters right now is the vote by the undecided people..

All the public services, the streets, I mean, everything
Maybe Chavez DO "GOOD" Things, and I won't deny he has done BUT:
IT'S WAY MORE THE BAD THINGS HE HAS DONE THAN THE GOOD ONES..

I mean the United Nations (ONU) said Venezuela is one of the latin american countries with more equality.
There are more schools, hospitals, health for the people, less poverty, etc but I don't like Chavez' attack on private property.
I just don't think Capriles is ready. I'm still undecided for who I'm gonna give my vote tho. They both suck in their own ways I have to go to New Orleans this year.

Maybe they both suck.. But it's time to change, don't you think? It's more than a decade with the same person? Changes?
Let this man to try at least, God Maybe he's not ready, was Chavez sometime ready? He's not like an well educated man, he's a militar and there are bad consequences to have a militar as a president
Maybe there are more hospital, educative institutes, maybe.. But the quallity, I mean, is BAD, BAD! That's not okay

I should have added a poll
But it wouldn't have been public. It'd be a secret

Not exactly on topic but we're nearing election day so Did you guys hear about the explosion at the oil refinery?
Quote:
A gas explosion at Venezuela's biggest oil refinery has killed at least 24 people and halted production for two days, officials say.
At least 50 people were also injured in the blast which started a fire at the Amuay plant in Falcon state in the north-west of the country.
State Governor Stella Lugo said nearby houses had been damaged by the blast. The fire is said to be under control.
The refinery, one of the biggest in the world, produces 645,000 barrels a day.

RIP all the workers It reminds me of the Tacoa Tragedy although that one was bigger.

Schools : public education is not the same anymore, I've always been in private school while my sister , my cousins went to a public school when I was younger.
hospitals & health: maybe is free but you have to buy everything they're gonna use to take care of you while you're in there. This is not the fault of doctors but the government.
less poverty: seriously? There still are people who go to the bed with nothing in their stomach. Mercal could help a little bit.. or a lot... but poverty still is a big part of this country.
I just cant believe there's a lot of undecided people after this 14 years... I mean 14 YEARS what are you waiting for? They had enough time... 14 years is enough and more.
PLUS: This government hasn't build any school or hospital... and how can you enjoy the benefits if you can't be saved from the insecurity out there?.

Less than 2 weeks away, Venezuela's destiny is about to change for the better .. or stay the same!
Thank God I regret voting for Chavez at the right time, my vote goes to Henrique Capriles.
