I know this. I'm saying that "Survival" would have fit the first single mold more than "Madness", given how uptempo the song is.

In essence, it feels more like a song that should have been released as the third single, kind of like how "Starlight" was the third single from BHAR and "Undisclosed Desires" was the "third" single in the US from
Resistance. It fits that mold more than as a first single release, which has traditionally been uptempo tracks like "Time Is Running Out", "Plug In Baby", "Uprising", and "Supermassive Black Hole". Then again, Muse has already prided themselves on doing things differently than the norm...even if it means moving away from their own tradition of releasing uptempo songs as first singles.
I'm sure I'll get over this feeling soon enough. I feel like I'm already getting over it.
