I mean, I haven't REALLY listened to all of the songs yet, but it's good. I personally prefer 21 simply because my favorites on that album are better than any of Emeli's songs, but BECAUSE half of 21 is kinda blah, I'd say Emeli did a better job than Adele at times with the album as a whole. There are some really good songs.

My only complaint would be that the tempo doesn't change much throughout the album, so I see why some would call it boring, or slow rather. But if you're looking for heartfelt music, then sure, you should give this a try.

Emeli Sande basks in what is turning into a truly breakthrough year, as the singer/songwriter’s post-Olympic sales momentum continues this week helping her to a fifth non-consecutive week at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, 28 weeks after release.

The recent boost given to double platinum album Our Version Of Events has seen Sande close in on fellow solo star Adele and her record-breaking album 21.

This week’s performance puts Sande’s Our Version Of Events just over 6,000 copies behind Adele’s 21 in the race to be the biggest selling album of 2012 so far, having sold nearly 647,000 copies since its February 2012 release. The album has never dropped out of the albums Top 10 since.

Digitally speaking, in the year to date Our Version Of Events has eclipsed 21’s performance, selling nearly 200,000 copies of the album as downloads, versus 21’s 158,000. However, there is still a long way to go for Sande, and indeed most other artists, before reaching 21’s total lifetime sale of over 4.42m copies in the UK alone.

According to the latest Official Charts Company sales data, Emeli Sande’s debut album, Our Version Of Events, has now overtaken Adele’s 21 to become the biggest selling album of 2012 so far.

Despite being released in January 2011, Adele’s second studio album has dominated this year’s Official Albums Charts, but as of midnight last night (Thursday, August 30) it now trails Our Version Of Events by 3,200 copies in year-to-date sales.

2012 has been an incredible year for Emeli; the 25 year-old Aberdeenshire singer-songwriter, who gave up a promising career in medicine to follow her dream of becoming a musician, won the prestigious Critics’ Choice Award at this year’s BRIT Awards, and was invited to perform at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Her debut album has now sold over 659,800 copies since its release at the end of February, with sales increasing by 33.3% month-on-month since the start of the Olympic Games.

“At a time when it is as hard as ever for new artists to break through, it is fantastic that Emeli Sande now has the official biggest selling album of 2012 so far,” comments Martin Talbot, the Official Charts Company’s managing director. “It is also apt that Emeli (who won the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award in February) should take over from the inaugural BRITs Critics’ Choice Award winner, Adele. Yet another British female singing star has been born!”
