Yes. Madonna could flop as hard as possible and release a 3 album trilogy of experimental recordings of farts, and she'd still be the Queen of Pop. She is, and always will be. Her legacy is cemented.

Yes. It's not made of a "current" thing, but her entire career. She was still known as the Queen at other points in her career when she wasn't doing so well, and this will continue.
People may say Gaga now, but in the long run Madonna will be remembered as the Queen of Pop, just like MJ will always be the King of Pop, and Elvis the King of Rock'n'Roll.
Plus, her new tour is far better (and will be more successful) than any of the latest tours by the younger popstars.

To my generation Madonna is just a name nothing more. All they know from her is Hung Up, Like A Prayer, and Vogue. Thats it. Nobody my age will be caught dead listening to Madonna besides older folks. Its the truth, Madonna can't transcend generations.
No one my age will care until she dies, and everyone loves you when you die. Look at MJ.

Her influence on the industry is enough to keep her the Queen even after her death so...

Yes, her accomplishments are still there. All other girls have fail to surpass her in sales, hits, impact, tours, etc.. so she's still THE QUEEN OF POP.

That's an over-exagerration. A lot of the people that go to her shows are in their 20s.

Yes. She still remains relevant after 30 years. Her influence on pop music/culture and the industry will be here for a long time. When another female is more successful and influential than she is/has been, they will be the Queen.

The Madonna stans are really nice about getting people (even the most narrow-minded) into Madge without being overwhelming. Lately I've been listening to playlists created by Adrian (a Madge stan) and I've liked A LOT of what I've heard.
You should do the same since you've only ever heard 1 track by her
And to answer the question: Auntie still has her crown.

These threads have been done to the death anyway. Does it get tiring knowing your fave has never had a career so fulfilling? Just live with it like everyone else!

Well, she's just never made me actually want to spend an hour listening to an album. Same for Jan. Personal preference

That is irrelevant. She's THE biggest and most acclaimed female pop star.
That's why she's queen. Her discography is also the strongest throughout all dancepop discographies.

Yes, Queen to the 70s,80s,90s babies but not the 00's or 10's babies. I'm not knocking what she has achieved, im merely asking with all her recent shenanigans, is it basically tarnishing all she has accomplished, and making her seem like a bitter old harridan not willing to give others the "midas touch"?

I dislike this mentality that Madonna has no fans under 20. It's not just wrong, but it's a little insulting.

Yes unless she continues putting out the music that she has recently.

Not really, ask a young person who they know more songs from. Gaga, Britney, Rihanna, etc or Madonna. They will pick the current popstars. Its the truth and I see it all the time. Like I'm in college, and there was a huge Superbowl event, many of the students didn't know who Madonna was and wanted Gaga to be there. Madonna isn't relevant to my generation, but she is still queen in my book.

What the public thinks of her is kinda irrelevant considering her influence.

This is hard.
I'd say that ever since Britney was handed down the crown from Madonna, that makes her queen and Gaga the princess. Gaga is deff next in line for the throne, but Britney doesn't want to give it up just yet. As for Madonna, she's way beyond royalty now. A flop for her is meaningless, but a flop for the other girls could cost them.

Yes of course. The title doesn't just "go away" because her albums aren't selling as much as before. It is about all of the accomplishments over the course of her career, which will always be there. She shaped the female pop star image of today. Literally all of the girls that came out in the past 15+ years are the way they are in the music industry because of Madonna. She is the top selling female artist. And she still has a huge fanbase and successful career, as shown by her tour receipts. Until a new girl shapes the music industry like she did, she will always be queen. Nobody has even come CLOSE to achieving even half of what she's done.
