I would, quite frankly, be VERY surprised if she didn't. Rihanna actually has 34 top 40 hits. She actually has an incredibly high rate of getting top 40. Quite literally, the only singles in her career that didn't go top 40 there are the ones that never got officially released in the UK (Break It Off, Hard, Rockstar 101, Raining Men, Man Down, and Birthday Cake). Her support in the UK is phenomenal.

Not to copy your post, but congrats are certainly due to Kylie.
But how phenomenal is it that Rihanna who has been around for 7 years has outsold Kylie, an all-time great of pop music, who has been around for 25 years?

There's nothing to discuss. Kylie is an icon who has been doing this for decades. For one to even suggest an artist who has yet to even hit 10 years deserves it instead (especially ignoring key facts like the difference in the height of single sales) is...yeah. I didn't report, btw.

We could have said it a little bit nicer. I'm sure people understand how big Kylie is. I'm from the UK and I don't see Rihanna playing on the Diamon Jubilee with Robbie Williams.
Rihanna's single sales are bigger then both of them, but to say that she's more of an icon in British Music then the other two is laughable (and this is comping from a Rihanna stan. Never bought any Kylie music so not biased, this is based on being British and seeing cultural impact).

• Kylie is the 12th biggest selling singles artist of all time in the UK - IDK about Rihanna
• She has 10.1m UK singles sales to her name - Rihanna has +13.6 m
• Can’t Get You Out Of My Head is the biggest selling track of her career, selling 1.15 million copies in the UK, and an eye-popping 300,000 copies in its first week on sale back in 2001 - Rihanna has 3, 1 million seller
• Can’t Get You Out Of My Head also features in the UK’s Official Top 100 biggest selling singles of all time at #72 - So where is WFL?

While Rihanna has shown amazingness, you have to remember that in the past, those numbers kylie get are far more impressive then what Rihanna has now.
You should know, Ace is a kylie stan, so watch out

I like how current pop girl stans like to compare current cheap 0.99 singles with pre-digital singles that was much more expensive. 10M in physical era >>>> 14M (or actually 25M) digital singles.

Not quite. It isn't that straightforward, and we can't really compare the figures. Since the digital era started, the piracy has really become a vast problem, and hence the sales are getting weaker and weaker, for instance.

IDK why you are comparing Rihanna and Kylie. Rihanna reached her first #1 in 2007 (that's only 5 years) while Kylie started to chart two decades ago.

Yep. But they said Kylie is one of the queens. And this "award" is more about longevity, I think. However, Kylie has 33 top ten singles, Rihanna doesn't, Kylie has 46 top 40 hits and 11 platinum albums and I'm not sure Rihanna will ever achive that.
|
I was going to question Rihanna, but damn those feats.
She's an under-rated Queen but i'm glad we can enjoy her over here.

If I counted correctly, Rih has 21.
But yes, this is about Kylie's accomplishments. Congrats to her again.

Yet Adele has sold out Michael Jackson's Thriller album in the UK.
Sales are somewhat lower but they are certainly not 'weaker and weaker'.
People buy good music. Period.
