Then it wasn't really love in the first place, was it? If one is more concerned over their own financial well-being than either the relationship or the other's financial well-being, that shows they weren't committed enough. Any way you look at it, two people is better financially if they are both able to work (and I believe those able to work always should attempt to get the best job that will accept them). The situation becomes more complicated when one can't work, but why would you leave someone alone who is incapable of working, simply because of their incapability?
And is "incapability" really a word?
