Wow, my knowledge of the 70s and before is pretty underwhelming

I don't want this to be all 90s but it's what I have the most on my itunes.

For the record, deciding what years constitute the "20th Century" is what I'm struggling with the most right now. Should it be 1900-1999 or 1901-2000? I know that the latter is more technically correct than the former, but the former tends to be more accepted. Anyone?

So far, I only have 5 songs I can put for sure on the list and a candidate list of 75.

Easiest way is to take 4 greatest songs from each decade (well, if you start from the 50's?). I don't know.

I know I missed a lot of quality material but I did the best I could to represent songs I think should be on the list.

But it will hurt me still.

Donna Summer - I Feel Love
Madonna - Into the Groove
Radiohead - Paranoid Android
The Beatles - I Am the Walrus
David Bow - Suffragette City
Björk - Jóga
Beck - Loser

I hope some others do.

60s: 7, 70s: 1, 80s: 7, 90s: 5

I think that a lot of those artists will make the actual list, but maybe not THOSE songs. "Paranoid Android" is going to have one hell of a shot, though. It's surprisingly popular here.

I swear if "Creep" and "Karma Police" make the list and that song doesn't.

I don't think it's very fair to include BOMT. Technically, yes it is.. but it's the kind of sound that cemented her as top selling 21st century artist and it was a part of the pop trend that started late in the 90s and lasted until the early 00s.

It's a genius pop song, but it's not a part of 100 greatest songs of the 20th century. Maybe if it were 100 greatest pop songs of the 20th century.

This is hell i will have problems choose just 20 songs, not to mention to rate them from 1 to 20. I already feel i still be not very objective, since there is some songs that i just want to include in list.

PS. I like 2 song limit per artist, that is what i suggested for album rate, although that means i must choose just 2 songs from some of my favorite artists that i really like.

There within lies the beauty of this list. Simply because of the sheer amount of songs at everyone's disposal, this will be the single toughest list to put together in ATRL history. And I LOVE that.

Oh, quick update: I decided to go back to the 1900-1999 20th century definition, though you guys are more than willing to wonder if the "20th Century" should actually be 1901-2000, though.
