Viacom is a corporation with corporate interests. It's different than Oprah getting involved; she's a single person and has full representation of her brand and its entities. Viacom owns numerous franchises and has a board of executives that something like this had to be approved by. They wouldn't just do this if there wasn't something to be gained, whether capital, financial, branding, exclusivity deals, etc.
