In their defense, the production budget was $200 million, while the marketing budget was $75 million (still too ****ing much.) The original cost $65 million and it grossed $261 million (equivalent to $151 million and $464 million in 2012, respectively.) Unlike the original, this one won't open at #1, because 'The Bourne Legacy' will cockblock it, since its release got pushed forward from August 10 to August 3. Talk about bad luck.

I don't think the movie is going to flop. It looks promising and I think it's going to be the Rise of the Planet of the Apes of 2012.

I think people are putting too much faith on Bourne Legacy. The movie isn't even based on any of Robert Ludlum's book. People are going to be disappointed and the fact that Matt Damon isn't even on the film. Although Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz casting are charming, if the movie fails to deliver critically then the film is going to bomb.

Battleship was a board game, no actual bug name movie star in it and no one ever really cared for it to begin with.

Colin is an A-List movie star, he has a following.

Kate is also a top action movie star.

I've seen first hand how people react to the trailer in theaters, they love it.

And most of all Total Recall already has its own following from decades ago.

Why did they invest/how did they spend so much money on this? The budget is more than the original film made worldwide... Even if it is massively better it never would have made that.

I might rent it when it comes out on DVD to watch Walter White though <3
