I think the OP is referring to a gay guy... Subconscious racism is pretty common in the gay community. Gay men in general are portrayed as white and everyone is subjected to a certain standard of beauty just like in hetero culture, so other races are less accepted when it comes to dating.
But I completely agree. I just wanted to point that out.
Although I'm sure his friend would make an EXCEPTION for such a person. The problem is that they would have to be an exception in the first place. But maybe that experience would open their eyes to the beauty of other peoples.
