The only good thing about "Collide" is the riveting piano melody that plays throughout track - however, the bitch has points deducted for that since she stole that **** from DJ Avicill and had no intention to credit the poor DJ until he took her ass to court.
And this wasn't some Beyoncé **** where an artist is taken to court and all of a sudden the lawsuit vanishes - Leona is so basic that the court ruled in favor of Avicill and Leona had to add him on the track as a featuring artist...even though he wasn't in the studio when the track was produced!
Only Leona can take a, surprisingly, up-beat track and sound like she's crafting a soundtrack for Ambient. While the lyrics are dull and un-inspiring, the vocals are thin and evoke no emotion.
After "Bleeding Love" - Leona became local, only having a few decent charting songs in Europe. After "Collide" - not even Europe wanted this trash. The track was outdated, and snatched the day "We Found Love" came out - because that song is everything "Collide" is not.
The song is just all over the place. Oversinging a song doesn't make it powerful. Having lyrics that no one understands (WTF, Collide how?), doesn't make a song have substance. Sandy Vee (S&M, Firework) crafted mega-hits for Katy and Rihanna...but her song for Leona falls painfully short of bearable, let a lone hit worthy. I wonder why?
Hopefully with the extra 4 months Leona bought herself with the delay, she can come harder. But who am I kidding, her "new" lead single will just be another safe ballad.
And the video looks like a ****ing Hanes commercial.
