It didn't "ruin' the song for me, but Britney's animated video to 'Break the ice' left a lot to be desired to say the least.

I also felt they could have done more with Katy's E.T. instead of her just floating in space for the majority of the video.

I concur, I actually just saw the vid. for the first time a couple of days ago, only watched it because the song grew on me. At first I thought it was a fan made video, wasn't sure I was watching the legit version.

It's such a great ballad but it gets boring to watch after a min. because it's just her literally walking around, the scenery isn't that amazing either. They should have gave that vid. a in depth concept rather than Adele burning minor calories by walking for over 3 min.

A song doesn't get ruined for me completely by a bad video, but it does kind of spoil some of the visuals I had in my head while listening to the song:

-Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.): I certainly wasn't expecting a career-defining video, but a fun party one. But one that didn't include wearing prices & trying to heavily appeal to the teen market. It was really terrible.
-E.T.: I no longer remember what my initial visual for the song was since it's been like 6-7 months now, but it wasn't what the final video was.
-We R Who We R: I think I liked this video when it first premiered, but I watched it again recently & it was very poorly done.
