You're neglecting the fact that Adele has her own niche in the pop sphere in what is kind of bluesy/soulful pop. I'm not saying her music isn't quality music, but the fact that she is in a genre like she is, she's in a better place than if she did dance-pop, hip-hop, or rock.
Congratulations to Adele though! These numbers are unbelievable.
