If it's a quiz that involves labelling a map, a tactic I've always used would be studying the shapes of the rivers, and then linking them to each other.
If you can memorize the order of different rivers, you'll do really well. Same thing with other areas that need to be labelled. If you memorize the shape + 3 things around it, you'll do great
