Christina has an amazing voice, but she can't sing. Her technique is terrible. Cheryl has a weak voice, but she understands her voice. She has her limitations but she's a good singer.

Don't talk about vocal technique when you don't know **** about it. You need to control your voice in order to make vocal runs. And Ms. Aguilera makes a lot of them.

But is it an accomplishment to be more successful than Ms. Scherzinger?

Cheryl was always the absolute best dancer out of the lot, nearly always positioned front and center during their live performances. The other four were always trying to keep up. There was and is simply no comparison. Cheryl is the best performer in Girls Aloud, hands-down, and while she's no Nadine when it comes to vocal ability, she can certainly hold her own with Kimba, Nicola, and Shrieking Sarah.
And what songs are you talking about?? You can't just lop around an accusation like that without offering up some kind of arguable evidence.
Besides the fact that Cheryl has had some absolutely lovely live vocal performances--they may not be Whitney belters but she sounds wonderful when singing slower, vulnerable, more "indy"-type songs--how is she any more auto-tuned than any of her contemporaries? I guarantee you, there is no more work done to her voice than that which goes into making Britney, Katy, or Ke$ha's vocals more palatable, and no one's giving those three ****.

Calm down, I just gave my opinion and I agree with you at some point. Even with all those things I said about her, I like her. I'm a little bit lazy to discuss what I meant, I know my point could be more consistent.
In short, I mean that it's sad to see that the other girls - who are as much talented as she is (or even more) - failed so bad. I wish Nicola and Nadine could do the same she did with their solo careers.

All of the people she will be competing against are years younger than her and are already established artists. If she's working on her third album for the British market then I'm hoping for a proper release this time, with at least four singles released. Her first two albums were messy, especially MLR. Two singles? They gave up on it way too quickly.
Redone is everywhere nowadays. No doubt this will produce a hit, but it's not going to be anything ground-breaking.

I wasn't pressed, homie. I was just responding to what you said. When someone says Cheryl can't sing or that she's not talented, I'm ready to show them the error of their thinking.
And Nicola and Nadine failed because they don't have the personality or magnetism on and off-stage that Cheryl has in droves. Nicola will never be at home performing in front of millions the way Cheryl is.

If you think Christina has good control than you obviously know nothing about vocal technique. Christina uses those runs to hide the fact that she can't support a note with vibrato. Case-closed.

MLR was a rushed mess, I agree--unfortunate because 3 Words was such a strong debut. If they had combined the best tracks from both, Cheryl would have one stellar pop album. However, they didn't give up on MLR because of poor performance; it's because Cheryl packed up shop and moved over to the states to prepare for US X-Factor. She completely cleared her schedule and uprooted her life for that one, and all promo came to an end. MLR actually did really, really well considering how little was done to promote it in comparison to 3 Words.
But I agree with you, and I'm optimistic--I think Cheryl & co. realize this so they're putting some serious thought into crafting a solid record. Some of these rumors collabs have the potential for brilliance.

Your opinion matters of course. Saves Me from Myself makes your point invalid. Case closed ![rolleyes](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Please, let's stop comparing Cheryl and Christina when it comes to the voice. It's absurd.

I highly agree. She's been working on her US debut ever since "3 Words."
"Messy Little Raindrops" was completely wasted. "The Flood" was an awful single choice. "Yeah Yeah," "Amnesia," and "Waiting" were surefire hits that never saw the light of the day. "Everyone" and "Happy Tears" both would have done pretty good as well. "Happy Tears" should have been the follow-up to "Promise This" if they wanted to release a ballad so badly.

LOL Nicole just had 3 consecutive Top 3 hits (including a #1), the 4th is coming, Cheryl has never done that. DHYB is the 17th best selling single of the year, and the album Killer Love is gold and in the top 40 most selling albums of the year. It might not have sold as much as cheryl's album, but cheryl was a x-factor judge which helped her albums. OH and call me when Cheryl gets a top 40 hit in US, and top 20 on US radio AKA never.
I see why you're mad ![:)](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Seriously dude, I'm not in the mood for another Nicole vs. Cheryl thread. Those never end well.
But if anyone is going to have a #1 hit on the states, it's going to be Cheryl before Nicole. If Nicole isn't getting it with Right There, I doubt she's going to get one. And it's funny that you try to shade Cheryl with the mention of her presence on X-Factor when Nicole's spot on the US X-Factor panel is the only way a remote possibility of her ever seeing a #1 in the states exists.

Get them together
I dont understand why people even come for cheryl's voice, her voice is hardly modified. She's not the best singer, but she has a good voice. She never tries to sing power ballads, she sticks inside her vocal range and pulls it off well, and for anyone to come for cheryl's performance skills is LAUGHABLE. She's a much better performer than katy, kesha, rihanna and as much as i love her, britney.
She has the potential to make it far in the us, so im really interested in what she comes up with ![Duca](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/duca_zps480ab501.gif)

And she's aware of them, which makes her a good singer.

She's had 2 #1 albums and 3 #1 singles. Her debut went triple platinum and her second album went platinum, supported by one hit. "3 Words" and "Messy Little Raindrops" were some of the best-selling albums of 2009 and 2010 respectively. Same goes for her singles, "Fight For This Love," "3 Words," "Parachute," and "Promise This." She has had multiple hits in other European countries.
Cheryl's first single has sold more copies than all of Nicole's singles. Both “3 Words” and “Messy Little Raindrops” outsold whatever “Killer Love” will sell during its run.
Cheryl hasn't even been launched in the US yet. "Right There" is Nicole's fifth "lead" single (and it features 50 Cent) in the US and it's stuck at #39. Nevertheless, congrats to her for finally making the Hot 100.

Right? TBH I'm SHOCKED there aren't more Britney fans who enjoy Cheryl. They're so similar, so much so that my love for Cheryl has actually made me appreciate Britney more. Both have wonderfully distinctive recording voices, both are incredible dancers, both are fantastic performers. I don't think Cheryl's as good as Britney at her peak, but now that Britney has moved on to other things--motherhood, family, etc. Cheryl is the closest girl out there who emulates the spirit and energy that Britney has always channeled. Cheryl herself has even said that Britney is one of her biggest inspirations in music, etc.
