Gaga's the Songwriter, so that cuts off Writing camps and Songwriting,
She is friends with everyone she works with so I'm sure she has perks.

Well, I doubt Gaga's had writing camps.
But she's not the ONLY song writer credited in her songs, besides Born This way (To my knowledge).

Definitely. But she, as well as a lot of other pop stars who don't write all their music, could benefit financially I'm sure from just selling singles and ep's. Great read, by the way. It's fascinating how much money actually goes in to recording an album.
|
Of course they could. But I still don't think people like Rihanna should stop selling albums completely. At the same time, though, I'd be worried for her to sell EP's. They don't generally sell as well as albums.
I know! That's why I get so irritated by people who don't buy albums if they love the music. SO much work goes into an album, so I don't see why you wouldn't buy an album you like. It's just $12.

Of Loud, yes. But it's not like Born This Way will outsell that by December.

Fernando confirmed that Gaga is the person who writes all of her music. He even said that she is really generous with credits. There is hardly ever more than one co-writer on her songs because she writes the music. Britney had 33 writers on her new album and she wasn't one of them.

In comparison to her single sales, yes. She has HUGE singles, so she should be able to push more albums. Though, she's not as bad as Katy, lol.

Actually, all Gaga has to do is sell 83k WW a week until December and she'll pass that, so don't count your blessings just yet.

3 #1's and 4.5 million sold. Divide 4.5 by 3 and you get 1.5. 1.5 million per single isn't bad at all.

lol at the beyonce fan trying to throw shade.
beyonce's songs come out the same way - as do britney's and many others.
the funny thing is...beyonce's singles (and albums when it comes to the worldwide picture) do worse than Rihanna's

You girls are so inside the box and basic. Riddle me this - who else besides Adele and Gaga are doing it better than Rihanna? No one. Take a chair.

Uhm, that was a total and complete RUMOR, beginning and ending there. Also, Rihanna doesn't pay for her albums. It's her label that pays for all of the recording so it's not like that hurts her at all.
Oh, and also, NO artists make money off of their albums. Even if an artist writes and produces the songs on their album, their label STILL takes the majority of the profit stemming from the album. The only reason Rihanna had trouble making Forbes with Rated R was because the tour that would have been what made her a lot of money wasn't super successful. BUT she still made 29 million off of a flop album.
|
My comment about the rumour was just a joke. Have a sense of humour gurlll.
And oh I didn't know that. Why don't artists make money off of their music?
But with your comment on her tour not being successful doesn't that just prove she didn't have any single/ album sales to fall back on because she was barely involved with the writing/ composing. I mean i think I remember reading on RD way back that they has a writing camp for Rated R aswell. (I'm still going by artists make some money off of their album)

May I know who was talking about Britney?
May I know why anyone should believe Fernando's claims?

Notes
These are rough estimates based on interviews with industry insiders. The figures have not been confirmed by Rihanna’s label, Def Jam.

They don't make money off of their music because they don't fund the production and creation of it.
Rated R still sold fairly well. 3 million in sales and her singles from that era weren't too bad. It wasn't a huge era but it was alright in terms of success. Oh, and yes, she had a writing camp for Rated R (most albums do have writing camps), but she co-wrote a lot of Rated R and was heavily involved in its art direction, creative aspect, and its business aspect. And though the tour wasn't successful, it still grossed around 40 million, 30 of which went to Rihanna.

Rihanna gets publishing from her songs whether she wrote on the song or no.

I remember reading somewhere that she is generous with the credits on her albums. And even then I am pretty sure she composes the bulk of the song. There's no way that she is paying that 18k per every song for the writing camp and she isn't paying even half of the 20 k for co-writes.

Yeah, you're not understanding what I'm saying. No one said it isn't bad. Rihanna has proven that she can sell albums with Loud. But you see, Gaga has had 1 #1 and 3.2 million sales.

I was using Britney as an example.
And fine, look at the album credits:
DJ Snake, DJ White Shadow, Fernando Garibay, Lady Gaga, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Jeppe Laursen, RedOne, Clinton Sparks
