Weirdly, even though both "Deja Vu" and "Alarm" were received somewhat cooly, "B'Day" still exploded at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 541,000 sold in its first week. (Perhaps, one could surmise, its handsome debut was generated by goodwill earned from the performance of her smash first album "Dangerously in Love.")


So, while "Run the World" isn't setting the charts on fire -- it's not the end of the world for Beyoncé -- nor for Lady Gaga. "B'Day" still blew up without a blockbuster lead track, and, once "Irreplaceable" hit, the album found an extended life. As for Gaga -- never underestimate the buying power of her legions of little monsters and her ability to capture the public's attention as we inch closer to the release of "Born This Way."

I'm not expecting her to do outdo her debut, but I do expect this to have a certain amount of longetivity like all her releases since 2008 have had (albums & singles alike).

What thread is either song hanging by? Both are still Top 15 digitally, & Top 20 on the Hot 100. The former is on its way to triple platinum & defied the odds by having longetivity even with the ridiculously amazing first week sales some would've presumed to be front-loaded. It spent 6 weeks at #1. The latter is nowhere near done & is already climbing due to the stellar video release. And it shouldn't be a negative GaGa uses promo opportunities to her advantage, the other girls should take note.

I think Gaga could pull off 1 mill in first week with the insane amounts of promo that she has planned this month before the album release. As for Judas I just don't know. It's gained like 20 spots on iTunes since the video was released and about to enter the top 10. Who knows what'll happen
