Sometimes she gets this mention, even by the media, cause we all know she once ruled the pop world, and the Princess of Pop title still "belongs" to her, naturally, some feel they can call her Queen already.

The reigning "queen of pop" can be whoever the most successful female pop artist at the moment is, it doesn't have to be static. Although the fixation on the title is pretty silly.
If you're talking about which artist has achieved the most over the span of their career, then nobody is touching Madonna. If we're talking about present pop culture relevance, then both her and Britney's heyday have come and gone.

A Queen's reign doesn't last forever. This is in no way, shape, or form discrediting Madonna, because she is, without doubt, a legend, but since Madonna's career is inarguably "dead" compared to where it was, wouldn't that make her the Former Queen of Pop? I haven't seen her **** on the industry in quite some time.
I'd say Britney dethroned her early in her career, and is now struggling to keep her crown on while the likes of Gaga, Katy, and Rihanna are in line to rip it off her head.

Everyone you just listed is the blueprint for their careers in one way or another & as far as her career being dead...you obviously must not know about the success of the Confessions & Sticky & Sweet Tour, bless your heart.

Yeah, because the only way Britney Spears can become Queen is if Madonna dies? Lmfao. People are looking at that way too literally. Yes, Madonna had that title before, but she is no longer "Queen." That's just the way it is, but that doesn't make her or her achievements any less significant. Britney Spears is the current reigning Queen of Pop. That's hard for many to deal with, specifically older generations and Gaga stans.
