What if someone made a class called "the problem with blackness"? not about "the problem with black people" but blackness as a social construct. I think the issue isn't really with the class, which seems to be discussing racial issues in the US, but with the inflammatory title which suggests that being a certain race is a problem

idk, it all just comes across as divisive at this point. It's one thing to discuss racism, like what has always been done, but the labelling and trying to divide people into groups and put specific blame on each one does nothing to help, even if there's a lot of truth in what is said.

Ultimately, discussions about race, sexism, etc should be inclusive otherwise you're just preaching to the choir and alienating the people you're trying to educate.

That's just my opinion though.

Well when you reap the benefits of colonism, Jim crow laws and slavery while POC face the repercussions you're just as guilty and play a part. That's like your parents robbing a bank and you benefiting from that money. You didn't commit the crime but you still benefit from it. If you don't do anything about dismantling this system and choose to keep your head in the sand you're just as bad.
