I loved it because it wasn't trying to be something it wasn't. Her previous covers are all over the place and this was calm and neutral.

Yass at the Joanne cover love - it's simple and pure, like the album. It all makes a lot of sense - that being said all of her album covers have been quite symbolic of the music. Born This Way's was polarizing, ARTPOP's was quite hectic and zany, Cheek to Cheek was boring and now Joanne!
