About
In the beginning of the year, I was really loving the Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify. That's where I discovered
Hall & Oates, a two year old song but one that ended up brand new to me. I was also all about indie music at the time so it was a perfect fit.
Sunshine was a great surprise to me, I had only listened to it because the band and I share our name but after one listen I ended up hooked.
SOS (Overboard) was the last song that I discovered from that Spotify playlist before I switched to Apple Music. It felt really familiar when I heard it and was instantly stuck in my head. We all know
Perfect Illusion and while it made my top 40 countdown, I was let down a bit by it and there are two other Lady Gaga songs that outpeak it on my countdown. Next is
Queen of Clubs which comes from what will probably end up being Azealia's last good release, and though I've stuck with Azealia up to the point of the Slay-Z release, throughout the rest of the year I'm starting to let her go and stop stanning for her sadly.
Sink Like A Stone is last in this update. Naomi Pilgrim has become a favorite of mine and every release of hers I've liked. On her latest EP also titled Sink Like A Stone, this song is her best and is a perfect mix of alternative pop and electronica mixed with a great political message.
