If you don't like indie, for instance, you probably don't want to listen to the indie stuff. Some people will listen to every single song and like if you wanna do that that's super super cool! But I just feel bad because I feel like I wasted their time.

You and I both know the lead up to Mitski's breakthrough was one of the most exciting things of the year. "Happy" is exactly why. When I first heard it, it didn't seem to catch me as YBAG had done, but by the second listen I had confirmation that its subtle cleverness and slightly ominous feel was accomplishing so much more. It's still my favourite song from her album.

Yes it was so exciting. She got butted out of the top 10 albums on Metacritic though so I'm pressed. And as you know I totally echo your thoughts, I was also let down initially but it grew on me. Now I hate YBAG (even though it's such an important song :eyes and love Happy.

I'm glad jmsn is being mentioned. I loved his recent album. Happy is definitely a Puberty 2 standout. It does remind me St. Vincent at times. The Cigarettes after Sex song is chill. #42 is an experience.

Yeah idk I only really like Power from JMSN's album. And I've been a longtime fan of Mitski but only Happy really stuck for me. I still listen to Puberty 2 occasionally though.
