Jesus. I guess a book on the explanation of these genders is what I want for Christmas now. Remember when there were just two genders like olive oil and sunflower oil. Now there's rapeseed, grapeseed, linseed, coconut, vegetable, corn, cottonseed, palm, peanut, sesame, safflower, soybean oils etc.
Oh come the **** on this is ridiculous. Neither?? Gender Noncomforting??? Two Spirit???? Really?
Way to go you special little snowflake. Here's a golden star for being so damn special
If people had real problems they wouldn't stress about a dating app not recognizing their super special gender

What's the difference between agender and non binary?
Agender means you do not identify as having a gender.
Non-binary means you do identify as having a gender, but you don't identify with the 'binary' genders, being male and female.

Why don't they just do what ATRL does and let you fill in a gender. It would appease literally everybody, and you wouldn't need that excessive list.
I don't understand why this is needed? If you're transgender do you not just associate with the gender you are?
I feel this is just complicating matters.
In situations not involving dating/potential sex, I would agree specifying between trans and cis wouldn't matter, but it's important here. Tinder is a dating/hook up app -- the specifics do matter to most people when seeking a partner. Upfront disclosure avoids wasting time interacting with someone who wouldn't be interested or worse, ending up in potentially dangerous situations like a hetero male reacting violently to finding out that the woman he was attracted to has or at one time had a penis.

Because the system is supposed to sort you based on your gender identity and sexual orientation to determine whose profiles to show you and whom to show your profile to (e.g. If you're a gay man, you'll only see other gay or bisexual men's profiles and only gay or bisexual men will see yours). If they let anyone type anything then the process wouldn't really work.
I mean it's great for people to feel like they are being represented, but damn, I don't even know what half of those even mean. Shows my ignorance I guess

Although I can understand your point, they couldn't add like a filter or search option based on gender preference? The only things I could see to make a system like that fail would be typos and people not taking the gender part seriously. However, if someone isn't taking the gender part seriously, then they aren't taking the app seriously and probably aren't worth anyone's time to begin with.
