I was just having this conversation and was going to thread it
I'm not religious, but people who are religious/spiritual typically have a sense of belonging and understanding of a higher purpose in life. It makes sense why they'd be happier. When you feel rejected or no organization to belong to it's easy to think 'no one will miss me when I'm gone.'
This doesn't apply to just religious people. Basically, people who have lives are happier
