Anyway, no. Gaga has earned herself a great deal of respect over the past few years and it looks like this album is going to earn her respect as well. She's going for a less poppy more raw approach,and I don't think it's going to be seen as an underperformance as much as Bionic/Lotus were. Xtina didn't have as much respect around those times, she was hardcore selling an image with Bionic and Lotus was just a mess.

what makes you say that? the first single wasn't acclaimed in the slightest

OT: i can see the similarities, but Xtina had hits even during her "struggling" years. i dont see gaga following the same route. she ran after mark because of uptown funk (the biggest hit of 2015) and it did absolutely nothing to her career.

I think Lady Gaga has had more success during her short career than Christina Aguilera so it's pretty unfair to compare both but yeah it's possible that she never really comes back, like Xtina, if her album and singles don't sell

I'd hope not and you cannot really compare the two. Lotus happened 14 years into Christina's career. Xtina had a successful album with a big hit 8 years in her career and was still able to have a top ten solo hit 10 years into her career, I don't see Gaga having the same luck.
