It's worth keeping in mind that the chart dynamic has changed since 2013 but come to think of it Gaga released Applause here instantly too (I think) and managed top 5, so things have definitely changed for her.

Perfect Illusion struggling to go Top 20 with a full week.

If UK Charts wouldn't count streaming, just as they did for Applause, this would probably still debut in the Top 10.

But streaming wise, in the UK, she's not even top 40.

Debut is the key word here. Who knows what could happen, it could easily repeak. Especially since it hasn't been performed in the UK yet, word still hasn't really spread about the song, and radio won't add it until this week.

UK charts are different. Usually a song's debut position is close to where it will peak. It's rare a song rises and becomes a hit like the US.

That used to be the case before On Air/On Sale, but the UK now follows that release strategy and has done for the last year or two, so it is more in line with the US now.

Don't know why everyone is laughing in the other thread, this is a pretty respectable debut.

Unless you are big on Spotify (Drake, Bieber, Calvin) you won't be debuting any higher that this.
