Thank you all for the kind comments, they're much appreciated. The first list "The Top 20 Videos of 2010" will start later on today. Until then, sit back and enjoy...Vampire Weekend!
The Hot 100 Females List will begin later on today aswell, so refer to my blog!
So let's get this started! The first countdown on my Year-End this year, so get excited!
(I can assure you right away, you will not agree with my placements, I'm telling you right now!)
20. Arman Van Helden presents Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand
I love a cameo, I really do! This is probably what sold me this video. Appearances from Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Santigold, and Ezra from Vampire Weekend are what sold me this video. Aswell as that, I quite enjoyed the Barbra Streisand impersonator, really liked that. It's a party song, and the video is okay, but as I said the appearances sold it for me.
19. Beyonce - Why Don't You Love Me?
First off, Beyonce looks incredible in this video. Probably the sexiest video of 2010. I liked the idea of Beyonce as B.B. Homemaker. I thought it was a clever concept for a video, because let's face it, Beyonce hasn't been the most adventurous artists when it comes to the music video (minus Single Ladies), but she really done something different this time. Prepared for the attack of the Bey stans now.
18. Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg - California Gurls
I had to include this video in the countdown, because this was probably one of my favourite videos during the summer, now I'm not such a big fan of the video (after the EMA's joke). But the video was fresh and fun, and really helped the song become the summer anthem it is now.
17. B.o.B feat. Bruno Mars - Nothin' On You
Probably my favourite part of this video is the collage of girls that B.o.B and Bruno create at the beginning of the video. Just like "California Gurls" - I adored this video when it came out. I thought it was really creative at the time, I loved the whole paper people concept, put me in mind of "Warriors Dance" by The Prodigy. Maybe I just have a thing for paper in videos - hmmm, I'll need to look into that.
16. Gorillaz - Stylo
This video hasn't been a critical success the way their other videos have been, but I genuinely really enjoyed this video. I can't really explain it but it was like a mini action film, what with the star "Bruce Willis", and the bandits "The Gorillaz". Sorry for a bad explanation, but watch for yourself and make your decision. I liked it either way. It's no Clint Eastwood anyway
15. Arcade Fire - We Used To Wait
Clever idea on Arcade Fire's part. Although quite a simple video, it's a really special video. It works well with such an elegant song. Apple really need to chime in on this video and promote it for one of their new computers, because everytime I watch it, that's what it puts me in mind of. Probably my favourite scene in the video, is the end with the bursting trees. In a weird way, that scene gives me chills. Don't hate on me.
14. Marina & The Diamonds - Oh No!
Marina made a cute video here. The whole 70's inspired feel to the mv chimed in with my love for the song itself. Although videos like this have been done before, Marina really made it her own in this particular one, she put her own stamp on it. Favourite part of the video - obviously the choreography by Marina herself. Who doesn't love those hand movements, eh? C'mon?
13. will.i.am & Nicki Minaj feat. Cheryl Cole - Check It Out
Okay, okay, I get it. The UK Version is badly edited to involve Cheryl in it, while the original version is actually good. Obviously I'm going to choose the Chezza version over the original. Seeing Cheryl doing such a fun video made me love it more, not to forget how incredible she looks. I love this version, I love seeing Nicki's facial expressions, aswell as Cheryl's. will.i.am, you have a pink head piece on - I can't look at you without feeling embarrassed.
12. Foals - Miami
This video is pretty camp, I'll give you that, but I remember seeing it on NME and thinking, what the hell is this! Being a little freaked out that it was one of my favourite bands, first of all thinking to myself "this is one of the worst videos I've seen", then actually laughing and enjoying it after my second viewing. Transvestites and body builders fighting, and then eventually getting along. The World can get along in perfect harmony after all.
11. The Temper Trap - Love Lost
Such a mighty video! Listening to this song, I would never have expected to put two and two together. The nerdy boys doing cross-country miming this song and doing their strange "Robin Hood" dance, I thought it was great. I don't know how you couldn't watch this video, and think, "wow, that was a great video". It just makes you smile! Check the end with the fat kid being sick, what a video!
KoB Presents...The Worst Video of 2010
Riva Starr feat. Noze - I Was Drunk
This is just a creepy video, plain and simple. The video would have been fine, but putting a moustache on a baby just made me feel strange and dirty. Don't ask why? This is just a horrible video.
Part II of the video list will be continued soon, but right now comment and enjoy!
