A good lyricist is capable of making me feel something. That's my opinion.

Last Kiss truly makes me feel the remorse over a lost love.
Ronan truly makes me feel the despair of losing a loved one to cancer.
Enchanted truly makes me feel the magical moments of love at first sight.

I've never really... Felt anything from Katys music.

With Gaga, the closest I've come is probably hearing You & I + The Edge of Glory. Those are really really great songs, and I feel exactly what she was trying to convey in those songs.

I actually would say that Gaga has written better songs than both - only issue is she's also written worse songs than both - her issue is consistency - but when she writes well, she writes smart.

Whereas Katy & Taylor write consistently but they write very simply.

I'd give it to Taylor just because she can tell a story with her writing, I don't really get that with Katy with the exception of a few songs.

I'm not rating it highly because it's a ballad. It's genuinely one of the best on TFM. Ranking those songs, based on lyrics, I would say

1. Bad a Romance
2. Dance In The Dark
3. Speechless
4. Monster
5. Alejandro
6. SHICD
7. Telephone
8. Teeth
