For sure. Rihanna has 14 #1s and only two of them are remembered. Meanwhile Katy has 9 #1s and all of them are remembered. That's why having all those #1s doesn't matter if they don't stand the test of time

Girl the delusion. I doubt anyone can name all the number ones that came from TD ..

Well, Umbrella, Diamonds and Don't Stop the Music are Rihanna's most well-known #1s and they're just as famous as Katy's most known #1s Roar, Firework and I Kissed a Girl. They're on par.

I think they're equally remembered. The only difference being Rihanna's songs are spread across genres (R&B, House, Reggae etc) while Katy's hits have mostly carried on with the bubblegum pop genre.

Although Katy's my main fave, none of her no 1s will stand the test of time over We Found Love, Diamonds and Umbrella.

yeah, i would say so. it's mainly because rihanna has so many #1s and goes through them so fast, while katy's #1s seemed to stick around a lot longer, get more radio play, and have more of an impact.
the most-known songs from rihanna off the top of my head are umbrella, we found love, and possibly diamonds.
the most-known songs from katy off the top of my head are firework, roar, teenage dream, california girls.

Nop !
iTunes 1500 tracks:
Rihanna
618 Rihanna Stay (feat. Mikky Ekko)
630 Eminem Love the Way You Lie (feat. Rihanna)
920 Eminem The Monster (feat. Rihanna)
1071 Rihanna Umbrella (feat. Jay-Z)
1089 Drake Take Care (feat. Rihanna)
1100 Rihanna Diamonds
1275 Rihanna Disturbia
1320 Rihanna We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)
1477 Rihanna S&M
Katy Perry
348 Katy Perry Roar
506 Katy Perry Firework
634 Katy Perry Dark Horse (feat. Juicy J)
2/3 of Katy's are from her last album cycle. I excluded songs from the ANTI era and yet RihRih, #1 on Spotify worldwide, comes out on top.

Yes. Her eras are more spread out and her singles generally have more time to stay on the charts before being shoved aside. Rihanna flies through her eras like nothing and that's why her hits more or less seem like a bunch of random songs from the same album. If you gave me a list of her hits I would not be able to tell you which album they came from nor the year they were released

Literally three of the biggest songs ever and Umbrella was on the upper half of many critics decade end lists, but ok.

TBH no and this is from an objective viewpoint Umbrella WFL Diamonds LTWYL and Work are all more immediate in my opinion than Katy's number ones although TD, CG, Firework and DH put up a good fight.
Also anyone who thinks all of Katy's number ones are memorable are deluded I mean LFN and POM

Outside of juggernauts like Umbrella, WFL and Diamonds...Work, Disturbia, S&M, Only Girl, then her features (esp LTWYL) are modern pop classics. Rihanna has so many hits that she could make a triple disc Greatest Hits CD.

Itunes positions are meaningles considering that Katy sold more and her last album was released 3 years ago.

Rihanna's in the middle of an era, of course she has more songs charting and she has like 8 albums
Roar and Dark Horse outsold all of them and they're higher than all of Rihanna's old #1s lol
