because her debut is so iconic and memorable shes one of the most famous people out there. Also because she hasnt had a flop era. No femme fatale wasnt a flop
consider Britney's fanbase to her peers and all the current it girls, no one hasn't come close to her fanbase when she's still on the peak in every shape, form and quality.
1.She has moderate big fanbase but loyal
2.Her music addictive and always bring some sensational preformances(it don't matter good or bad)
3.People more respect her after 'comeback',she paved way to today's artists (with Madonna ofc.)
4.Innovative music
5.Sexy outfit, interesting, sweet, she never shade someone and she just good girl
The media circus surrounding her marriage, mental breakdown, drug allegations and child abuse accusations have kept her in the public eye to a capacity her music probably couldn't have done.

She's not on top now but she still has so much power to her name. Really the first pop girl of our generation and a blueprint for all the pop girls now.
Otherwise her music post-OIDIA has nothing to do with it. Neither does her fan base.

Girl what? Britney stopped being a big media draw completely in early 2008 after the breakdown/conservatorship started. The press backed off of her after that. She had 2 eras after that so how has the music not sustained her? If anything, the songs are the only thing sustaining her since Brit hardly does promo. There IS a certain popstar who only the media has been sustaining since Vma 2011 (her last era) and all of this year (this current era) but I wont name any names.

Really??? I think some of her memorable works are from her first two eras.
