The Hunger Games was great! Not the best movie in the series but the book isn't the best so I think that's the reason why Catching Fire and the first film are better.
Right. The problem with Mockingjay is that the thrill of the series was the political nature of the games themselves. Quite problematic when the games is no longer the focus.
And I'll do a huge update when I wake up. #8-6 for Movies and #8-6 for TV Shows to catch up for ya'll. Then Best of Games and Books will debut on Monday.
I'm too lazy to keep up with graphic and I'm little short on time today. Next update for Movie: a low key film that expressed the high school drama of a closeted gay.
Coming in at # 8 is: G.B.F.

One of the more quirkier films I've seen in a while and yet it's also familiar in its cliched execution of the high school social hierarchy. Which is one of its bigger strengths when an accident exposes a closeted gay ensuing a hilarious chain reaction; resulting in the gay being the top member of the school by virtually association with the Bee Queens of the school. A fun film that doesn't take itself seriously and deals out some comedic moments with the gay having no clue what's happening.
I'll be doing five more updates every 20-30 minutes. Stay tuned.
Here's a hint for #8 in TV Shows: it tells the stories and background that's both connected and independent of the biggest universe to come out in the last 10 years.
Coming in at #8 for TV Shows is: AGENTS OF SHIELD.

As a whole, this show has tremendously improved in character development and plot. The Secret Warriors arc is promising to be the best thing to happen for Marvel TV. I don't normally advise a show like SHIELD if you're not into heroes but it tends to hold well on its own that you can watch the Marvel films to complement the show's background history (first season introduced the Hydra threat halfway into its season following the events of Captain America: Winter Soldier.) Season 3 has been a great improvement on Season 2 in regards of developing the upcoming Inhumans film (projected to be released in 2019).
And this one too had no need for explanation. A great tribute to Paul Walker that I found touching. Although it may not necessarily be the best film all around in terms of consistency and depth like others; but it has the benefit of the "family always" theme to it. Plus who can ignore the actors who truly are a family and miss Paul every bit as we audiences do (love you Vin and Tyrese along with Michelle and others). And the See You Again song doesn't hurt one bit here either.
Personally think this is one of the most underrated shows on TV right now. Simply because it's a fair representation of many kinds of families (lesbian parents of culturally and racially diverse kids including two adopted kids). This past season has been a really mature growth for a few characters. And it also takes chances in relationships that wouldn't ordinarily be represented on TV in earlier years; a gay relationship between two young guys and open minded friendship between people of all backgrounds (including transgenders). Huge points to Jennifer Lopez for executing producing this. xoxo
Similar running theme of a gay film running here. I'm a hopeless romantic in spite of the fact that I'm a narcisst, pessimist and a cynic all rolled in one. I enjoyed this one simply because it just rolled with it and did the cliche of the nerd and the jock falling for each other; but the actual kick being that the jock never came out of the closet despite a great support system. In a way, it also affirms my conviction that true love is bit more of a commercial play on people's naivety than it is practical despite my need to want to believe in it. I'm a mess.
Despite its shortcomings as too many narratives being a distraction, I think that it's a very promising show with a leading actress who gives her all. The mysteries regarding an attack 9 months after the main protagonist enters the FBI Academy has me wanting to know more and why with an entire class hosting a guilty party amongst them. In some ways, it's mirrors the intrigue of the next show that I have at #5 but suffers more in consistency and a few weak characters.
That'll be the last of today's updates. Tomorrow will be the final day as I'll be prepping and revealing the Top 5 TV Shows and Movies of 2015. Then Monday will begin the Games and Books.
While my list is definitely odd for what is supposedly a Best Of, it too similiarly experience the same effect as albums of 2015. A growth of expansion into older catalogues has led me to enjoy current and older releases. Ant-Man is a Marvel film released in July that caught my eye and it was vastly superior to the underwhelming Age of Ultron a few months prior. A simple but effective movie about a man who has the power to be small and pack a punch not just with his own fists but the ingenuity of ants to overcome any obstacle. Paul Rudd surprisingly made a solid appearance in the latest chapter of the MCU and I sincerely hope he continues as such for there's no character like this in the MCU. Doesn't hurt that he packed some drool worthy moments in his workouts for the film either.

A complex story involving the imminent population crash of Earth leads us to following astronauts traveling across decades of traveling (in Earth time but relativity tells us that we age slower the further we travel in space) in order to find a suitable planet to colonize. I have to admit, elements of this movie had the factors that you'd expect for a science fiction movie to depict in terms of a plot. But it doesn't change the beyond remarkable details of a black hole and the mysterious but equally intriguing elements of relativity. Fantastic movie

One of the few foreign films that instantly caught my attention on Netflix this past year. A stunning story about two guys who, despite the struggles of miscommunication and blindness, end up together. Strangely, I find a story like this to be better handled here than if it were in American studios.
Stay tuned in the next thirty minutes. The FINAL TWO top movies will be revealed! What is Troye's top movie of the year?
