As a dedicate Flo stan, I actually voted Beyonce, because she was trained. Florence never has - technique-wise, Florence is not at Bey's level.
Now, in terms of voices, Florence's voice is a gift and her raw natural talent is immense and incredible. If she only took the time to get some vocal training to allow her to completely control that voice of her. I am glad though she doesn't feel the need to oversing like some other people blessed with amazing voices.
Florence has very good technicality, great power, great and emotion. I really don't even think this is up for debate tbh. Beyonce is also a great vocalist, but I think Florence is a notch better.
Quote:
Florence
Vocal Type: Mezzo-soprano
Vocal Range: 2 Octaves 6 note D3-C6
Whistle Register: No
Longest Note:13 Seconds No Light, No Light
Vocal Strengths: Emotive voice that can go from warm cooing whispers to hard, solid and crystal clear in a heartbeat. Florence Welch is capable of singing complex vocal runs, through the registers and is able to hold notes for periods of time without wavering in pitch or tone [No Light, No Light]. Strong individual vocal styling that has been called "soulful" "bluesy" and "powerful".
Florence welch's midrange is warm and dark, and it finds its strength and volume at the top half of this part of the range. Here, as in all parts of the range, Florence is able to apply her speedy vibrato to dramatic effect.
The chest voice is elastic and never hoarse, with a characteristic free abandonment. It can reach up into the fifth octave, without sounding pushed or strained, while at the same time maintaining its clarity and brightness.
Beautiful head voice that can be soft and light, or substantial and bright.
Vocal Weaknesses: Top chest notes, especially in a live setting, can sometimes sound uncontrolled due to the expressive nature of her performance style.

Beyonce.
Vocal Type: Mezzo- soprano
Vocal Range: 3.1 octaves. B2- C6 (approx)
Whistle Register: No
Longest Note: 14 seconds - 'Flaws And All' (live)
Vocal Pluses:Incredible vocal flexibility and dexterity that allows for pin-point accurate and fast melisma without issue. The chest voice is clear, smooth, and elastic, being able to reach notes above a D5 without the tone of the voice suffering via brilliant mixing of the chest and head voice. The head voice itself is bright, full and resonant with a smooth texture and a warm timbre. Overall a technical singer with amazing control and a stunning vibrato.
Vocal Negatives: Voice can become shrill when belted higher notes are used minus the vibrato.

+1 this entirely. I just wish she had some training to control her vocal a little more.
Gurl. Bad control =/= amazing vibrato. Her ability to go from head-voice to earthshattering belts is UNMATCHED.
I love her music and lyrics but sometimes her voice is painful to listen to. It sounds screechy to me.I never said bad control, but it certainly can be improved.
There's no flaws to Florence's voice or singing. She has great technicality, power, and emotion. I really don't even think this is up for debate tbh. Beyonce is also a great vocalist, but I think Florence is a notch better.
