I just hope they don't overkill it with hip-hop/r&b videos like they have been doing on MTV whenever they do play videos in their video block. Add more variety, like IMF and Fuse.

i hope with the upgrade they extend the show to 90 minutes like 106th. They can then show at least most of the video and still have time to do their interviews and other unncessary things. they really don't need that "afternoon sneak" stuff, it ruins the ratings IMO for the shows.

I haven't paid attention to TRL in months. I just stopped being interested in it. I still look at recaps and all but it's just not the same anymore...

Are you serious? They need to play more Hip-Hop and R&B videos. Stop being a hater. I'm glad that they will be making changes because the show has been quite boring lately. It's even more depressing being there when they tape an episode.

Yes they do. Recently its been less vidoes but still way more than the 1 hour a day (0 on weekends) on mtv.

If they're gonna play more hip-hop, and rock, it has to be good ****--something that MTV rarely shows nowadays. Nas, for instance, or Method Man. nine inch nails--they had one of the biggest MTV hits of all-time with "Closer", now what's the big issue with ignoring them? Rock music is not limited to Panic!, Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, etc. Otherwise I'm not going to bother watching this post-TRL show and their little plan is foiled.
It's not like NIN, Incubus, Korn, Stone Sour aren't accessible or radio-friendly either, they always get hits on Active Rock and Alternative, just not on Top 40 [sans "Through Glass"]. So don't be a wiseass and tell me those bands don't have a place on MTV. I got into most of them because of MTV--not MTV2, mind you, MTV.
