But "Leavin'" was such a huge pop hit, they played the **** out of it. maybe they dismissed Katy as a one hit wonder at first.

"Summer Love" on the other hand seems random, it was the 4th single from FSLS, it didn't have a video I believe and "Umbrella" was so huge, Rih also had Pon De Replay (#2), SOS (#1) and Unfaithful (#2) under her belt at that point. It's more shocking to me.
