Its musical arrangement sounds like a symphony of children toys. Its lyrics sound like something The Wiggles would sing. And the melody is as generic as they come.

Are you on crack? "Fireflies" is a Postal Service rip-off and it's not better than any of the songs you mentioned. I will say that it's "different" than the typical #1 songs of 2009, but that doesn't automatically make it better.
bad romance and other song w/ good beats but poor lyrics is worse and terrible than fireflies, lol, quality of music became worse because of those mess.. lol

Even tho i absolutely love Bad Romance, Taylor is killing Lady Gaga in that section, but i dont think taylor can pull over 230k necessary to debut at #1 but we also have to take into account that many people are not going to buy the whole album but the individual songs
Ehhhhhh...people keep saying this. There chances are very slight, I think. Then again right now there aren't any definite sustaining #1 songs. For the rest of the year I think the top spot will keep changing til something lasting comes or one of the songs is one with a lot of airplay.
