The only awards I care about this year are Best Actress and Best Picture. I want Meryl Streep and Avatar to win them.

If the Hurt Locker dominates this year then it really is going to demonstrate just how irrelevant the Oscars have become.

I like the Hurt Locker, but it is not worthy of all the acclaim it is getting.

It may steal best picture and best director, in all other categories Avatar will dominate. I wouldn't understand considering Avatar has everything. Good plot, commercial success, nice performances, fantastic visual effects, awesome direction, etc. Avatar should win.

Avatar will probably win most (or all) of the technical categories it's nominated for (like special effects, sounds, etc.) while Hurt Locker will probably win the overall categories (Direction and Best Picture)....
