Um. Software updates of Windows operating systems have always been free.
The only thing that is not free is when you're switching from an older version of Windows to a new one.
Windows Operating Systems usually lasts 8-10 years of support. Also, with buying a new PC you can always just upgrade parts unlike with Mac, when the OS doesn't support the hardware, you usually are forced to buy a new one.
Right, but isn't this a totally new Operating System on its own? I'm kind of confused about that. Like I know the updates are actually free after purchase of the OS but isn't this the actual OS?
