I like her, but she only works in fun disposable pop songs. Occasionally one of these is brilliant ("Teenage Dream") but they mostly fall into the fun-but-forgettable category. When it comes to her introspective songs, the lyrics are very basic and sound like a teenager's poetry you can find on tumblr, not the work of a respected artist. No shade, just my honest opinion.
