First of all Nicki proved she's an MC throughout her mixtapes, so she can do pop cause she's already proven herself. Secondly when Super Bass was smashing Nicki had Did It On'em slaying urban. When she had Starships breaking records she had Beez In the Trap killing urban. Yes Nicki did do pop, but unlike Iggy she had urban music out at the same time.

She would have done a better job at sparking change or making her stamp on hip hop if she rapped in her real damn voice and stopped brushing off legitimate criticisms of how problematic she or her situation is.
