Yes. By doing so, he will probably grow his fanbase. I just hope he doesnt give up and work his way up. It is possible, but he need invest a lot of time and energy to achieve his goals. It all boils down to if he is willing to work hard + work smart.

Winning SHOULD matter. But it's always the wrong person that wins these shows (Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Matt Cardle, Tate)

At least with Simon Cowell, he'll support his own acts, even if they didn't win, if he knows they can be marketed for success - One Direction and Fifth Harmony for example. He also helps bring the marketable winners from the UK to the states - as we saw with Leona Lewis and Little Mix.

It's all about finding the RIGHT winner.

This show, at least the American version, is a flop. Talent shows are no longer a major launching pad for artists anymore. These producers need to stop throwing things (or people) at the wall, hoping something sticks, and start coming up with original ideas for a show. It's sad that the "biggest flop" talent show, The Voice, is now the only relevant one.

It would be cool if they scrapped all of these talent shows and started something new. It would be cool to have an online talent competition of something. The internet has overtaken television.

I hate talent shows for this reason. The GP likes the competition and the thrill of the competition, but more often than not, the competitors themselves are not particularly compelling and can just sing well, but lack any star quality. While that talent serves them well on the show, they have nothing to set them apart from the rest of their competition in the industry, and they suffer. A gimmick isn't always a bad thing so long as it is used well.

Honestly, I dont think the goal of the show is to "find the right talent". The goal of those kind of shows are to entertain and earning money.

She doesn't live a luxurious lifestyle. Plus she did have a sold out tour (well 90% sold out) in Europe, and she's had a couple endorsements, so I think she'll be fine.

And she's still worth about $10 million. How, I don't know. lmao

The thing I don't understand is that the winners DO NOT GET $5 MILLION, they win a recording contract WORTH $5 million with an advanced payment of a set amount.

So what the hell does the label spend $5 million on?!!

EDIT: Just read an interview where Simon says the whole $5 million goes to the winner, I assumed the prize worked similarly to the UK version prize but I guess not
