The fact that people compare the two in that sense is basically making Madonna look bad. ;toofunny: Why not compare Gaga to her peers like Katy or Rihanna? 'Cause they're certainly not doing it...
Right? Madonna is a legend, there's no denying it. To be fair people should compare Gaga to all her recent contemporaries or even any artists from the past 10 years.
But waiT. Wasn't Billboard not reporting Gaga's numbers because her team wanted to hide them flops? Hadn't she only sold 17K tickets in Peru? I see 36K, sold-out. What happened?
we have to remember, gaga is basically 4 years into her career whereas madonna is already established. the fact that there even is a comparison testifies to the strength of both artists:
-madonna her relevancy remains
-gaga her power and popularity at such an early stage
Whatever there aint no one out there with a 5yr history putting those kind of numbers so dont even go there and plus Madonna is like charging a gizzillion dollars per ticket

for both ... i hate madge/gaga comparisons
Right? The comparisons are becoming embarrassing to be honest. Fans of an established legend and the biggest female artist of all time have no need to be so threatened by a rising star with 4 years under her belt who is heavily influenced by the aforementioned legend. Gaga's fans should all be more than satisfied by the fact that, in touring, she's already outpaced every single person who came before her and by the end of this tour will likely be the second most successful touring female in history, and if she's not than it's guaranteed she will be after her next tour. Everyone should just be happy for their fave(s).
