Fifth Harmony sure have had an impressive year. Dropping the lead single from their sophomore album 7/27 in February this year, Work From Home became an instant smash hit with its strong and sexy music video being the first video of the year to accrue one billion views on Vevo and gain a massive 560m streams on Spotify. Work From Home became one of my most played songs of the year and is the main reason why they have made it into the top ten.
Following Work From Home came their second single All In My Head, a sizable song compared to its predecessor however failed to live up to the high standards the lead set. This was mainly due to Fetty Wap's verse rather than Fifth Harmony, but the song was still heavily played during its run and is one of my favourite tracks by the group.
Fifth Harmony have since released their third single, That's My Girl, which is a horn led pop bop that also opens the album. While the song has only just begun to chart and struggling to catch the general public's attention like Work From Home, it was a worthy follow up to the first two singles and gave us an empowering, stunning visual. This year has been a great year for Fifth Harmony, with slayful performances, winning awards and constantly growing and strengthening their talent.

Despite all of the setbacks, Tinashe has given me enough to keep me satisfied throughout the year, ending it with her second album titled Nightride which is some of her best work yet. The lead single, Company, features a techno distorted synth over a simple drum line and the remixed ending featured on the album snatched my wig so hard I still don't know where it is. Put shortly, I'm still bald cause of this album.
Barring Nightride, we are still waiting for the infamous Joyride, an album plagued with unfortunate setbacks, delays and let downs. First being led by Player, which was eventually dropped and all other tracks moved to Nightride like Ride Of Your Life (a bop) and Party Favours (a slay), we are left with the summer-y pop anthem Superlove. This track received quite a bit of criticism on ATRL, including from myself, however it has given us her best visual and saved the song for me. And I want "banana all in that split, bet them girls can't do you like this" on my gravestone when I die, which I surely will next year when Joyride finally drops.
The spectacular visual for Superlove was not an anomaly for Tinashe this year, with the visual for her collaboration for Britney Spears being easily one of the best for both artists. The colour pallet of blue and pink is obviously right up my alley (just have a look at my profile nn) and really showcased the amazing chemistry the two artists have between each other. Most of all, it portrayed Tinashe as the pop superstar she was born to be. Congrats Tinashe for persevering through all the set backs and giving your fans and yourself music and visuals to be proud of!
