Moving on today is my #45-41 songs but before we do that, let's take a look at my least favorite rock songs of the year:
Top 5 worst rock songs of the year:
5. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus- "False Pretense"
4. Blaqk Audio- "Stiff Kittens" (sorry I know rock fans generally love this)
3. Boys Like Girls- "Hero/Heroine"
2. Boys Like Girls- "The Great Escape"
1. Peter Bjorn and John- "Young Folks" (it makes me want to jump out a window)
Now onto 45-41 of my favorites:
45. Madina Lake- "House of Cards"
Truthfully, I didn't even know about this band until watching an episode of MTV2's Discover and Download and now I really like them. There a a couple of songs on their CD that I really wish they would release though.
44. Cinder Road- "Get In Get Out"
Their new single (I can't remember the name of it) and most of the rest of the album sucks pretty badly but this song is like the shining light in the album. It is a cool song that had a quick jump and a quick fall on my countdown. I believe it made it as high as #3.
43. Age of Daze- "Afflicted"
One of the more recent songs on my countdown and probably one of the hardest rock songs on my chart. I first heard this on Sirius 20 (Octane) and immediately went to download it. However, I'm sure that most have never even heard this song or band before.
42. Social Distortion- "Far Behind"
A "real" punk rock band with a unique sound. One of my personal favorite bands. I love "Ball and Chain" and "Story of My Life" along with many songs that were not as popular. This song is right up there with many of my favorites from them
41. Smashing Pumpkins- "Tarantula"
How appropriate that this song is right in front of Social D because they were battling for the top spot at the same time, both trying to beat out "Misery Business" and the Smashing Pumpkins actually suceeded once.
Come back Tuesday to see songs 40-36 and my top 10 overall songs I hate the most in any genre of music (expect Amy Winehouse on that list
).
