I like a lot of alternative/independent music, and I never pay attention to how popular something is before I listen to it...
But, I seriously hate real hipsters with all my heart. That whole indie vs. mainstream thing pisses me off so much. Like, why can't you just appreciate music because it's good, not because nobody else knows about it, or you liked it before it was popular.

Sis i agree. And to be honest i don't think in reality there are any "real" hipsters. I mean i am SURE they have had their moments of enjoying mainstream stuff that they are just ashamed to tell others and pretend that they are purist and ****.
I appreciate/like anything. Good Music,then good enough for me. This thread is just so that i/we can get those gems many of us has but clearly don't have a way to share it. I mean you find one really amazing obscure/rare song....you can't simply make a thread about it.

I really don't pay attention to that. Most of those uber pretentious, alternative loving music snobs usually have some type of mainstream music perched in their Itunes library.
I think I have something nice that would belong in this thread, a mellow and moody Indie treat.
It's from an Austrian band (I'm Austrian), and they are successful and somewhat known here and across the European Indie scene, but I doubt that anyone of you has ever even heard of them.
PS.: Also this. They like to incorporate classical instrumentation.
